Follow the traces of the Trapp Family, world-famous from the movie "The Sound of Music" by Rodgers and Hammerstein premiering in 1959 and discover the original filming locations.

The first stop of the tour will be Mirabell Gardens, where the song "Do-Re-Mi" was filmed. Then you'll continue to Leopoldskron Palace, where you can enjoy the spectacular view on Lake Leopoldkron. At the gardens of Hellbrunn Palace you can visit the Gazebo, rebuilt for all movie fans. Your next stop is the Nonnberg Abbey, which is also nowadays an active women’s convent. As the Abbey does not allow visits within the walls, you can walk up the front gate of the Gothic Church. Then you'll head to the Lake District Area with incredible views and photo opportunities. At the Mondsee you can see the famous church, where the wedding scene was filmed. Afterwards you have some time to explore the picturesque town on your own before the bus brings you back to Salzburg.

    My wife was keen to do the experience whilst we were in Salzburg for a few days so I booked the tour for us both. I have to say it was a bit of fun and the whole experience was informative as there were many stops and our guide Jose got everyone involved in a most entertaining and personable manner.

    Only negative was that we had to queue for a boarding pass despite having booked online and having the QR code. There was no information that this was required and we only found out when trying to board the bus. There was a large queue for people who had just turned up. So system needs structured and communicated better. Otherwise a wonderful tour. Allowed appropriate time in each venue. Loved the history and comparisons between the film and the actual family.

    Our guide Simon was fabulous! Very entertaining and knowledgeable. It was so good to visit all the places from the film and to learn all about them. Highly recommend this tour for anyone, not just Sound of Music fans x
