We had an excellent day from start to finish. Our guide, Delph was exceptional. She was knowledgeable and informative and remembered all our names. In Montserrat we were taken to the Bascillica and then had plenty of spare time to take a walk, have a drink, look at shops and market. We had a lovely 3 course meal afterwards with wine and then wine tasting afterwards of 3 wines. We were expecting to hear the boys choir as per your itinerary for visit and this was the only disappointment.
Located just one hour from central Barcelona, Montserrat is considered to be the most important mountain in Catalonia. A unique massif, famous for its spirituality, gothic shapes and beautiful view – ideal for treks and climbing.
Visit the Basilica and Monastery with a guide, after which you will have time to explore the site on your own. There are many activities to choose from – you may want to explore the monastery further, visit the museum, ride a funicular to the top of the mountain, or shop in the Farmer's Market.
After Montserrat, you will head to a boutique winery in one of the most important and beautiful landscapes of the region. But first, you'll make a stop at a restaurant where you will be served a fabulous multi-course Catalan meal accompanied by regional wine.
In the afternoon, you'll tour the winery under the guidance of an expert. Wander through the vineyards and gain insight into the wine-making process. The grand finale is a wine tasting session where you'll sample three local varieties. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a novice, your guide will ensure you have an enjoyable experience.
